Major Validators Join Testnet to Tackle Ethereum’s Overlooked Bottleneck

Briefly

  • The aim of the new application is to solve the narrow Ethereum profile in the network.
  • Early tests show 10 times lower latency under high operation conditions compared to the current system.
  • Valinators can test a new network without disturbing existing operations.

The Ethereum Validators, who control a significant share of the network, have begun to test the Optimump2P, a high -performance memory layer that could help solve some network limitations via its network tank.

Kiln, P2P.org, EveStake, Blockdaemon, Infstones, Luganodes and Ebunker are attended by the Optimump2P test, which introduced the new application developed MIT for Ethereum.

“The network layer relies mainly on traditional gossip approaches that use a decentralized approach to spreading messages between nodes,” said Muriel Medard, optimal co -founder and CEO, Unscramble.

Medard refers to “Gossip” protocols in blockchain networks as Ethereumwhere data such as new blocks, transactions or Blouse They are shared via Peer-to-peer.

This happens when the node sends data to several connected peers who then pass them on to others and continue the process until the message reaches the entire network.

“The careful compromise between the two effects lies in the heart of traditional gossip algorithms,” the medard said.

Network layer anxiety

Despite the continuing improvement of their implementation and consensual strata, Ethereum faces restrictions and narrow space: its network layer. The way the data spreads between the nodes is the waste of latency and bandwidth, especially with increasing data size.

Ethereum currently shares data across nodes using Gossipubprotocol libp2p. However, this system sends the same message to many nodes several times, leading to inefficiency and slower spread.

“If people are kneeling with too many neighbors, then they often hear the same message, which is unnecessary of their time,” the medd explained. “If they do not hold enough neighbors, they will not have enough chances of hearing new messages.”

For Ethereum anxiety, Optimump2P will rectify “by creating algebraic equations of people, not a simple old gossip,” the medal said. “Equations mean you don’t have to worry about old news; only new information is held in the form of equations.”

Optimum uses network technology called Random linear network codingwhich combines multiple pieces of data in coded packets.

Each packet contains only enough information so that once a sufficient number of unique packets have been received, the original data can be reconstructed, even if some packets are missing.

Initial testing reveals a significant improvement in performance in the current system.

The results show 10 times lower latency under high operation conditions, stable performance with a message of up to 10 MB compared to 4MB Gossipsub and zero loss of messages in stress scenarios.

Combined Validator testing for Optimump2P is at least 14% of the total share of the run across the Ethereum, according to data from rated laboratories.

Optimal plans to deploy Optimump2P on Ethereum’s Hoodi Testnet this summer, with a potential expansion to other blockchains of the layer 1 after initial implementation.
