The Kingdom of Bhutan integrates cryptocurrency payments into their tourism infrastructure in an effort to modernize its economy and attract younger, technologically subtle travelers.
In a prefabricated discussion during Binance’s crypto-guided tour in Bhutan, Damcho Rinzin, director of the Bhutan Ministry of Tourism, told the audience that the country’s tourism sector had long fought for the country’s payment infrastructure.

Rinzin also shared a modest goal to attract 300,000 users a year. He said that the integration of Bank DK Bank with the salary of binance should help the tourism sector, as attracting some of the millions of crypto users to visit would increase the local economy.
He also compared the crypto payment fees with traditional banking systems. Rinzin said that payments of close attack and lower charges for using crypto are more effective than existing payment systems in Bhutan.
“Digital integration will do miracles for people not only in tourism in Bhutan,” he said, adding that it would also help people in other industries.
In the discussion of a round table with the media during the tour, Carissa Nimah, the main marketing director of the Bhutan Ministry of Tourism, similar to sentiments. Nimah described Bhutan as “traditional and authentic” and at the same time “concentrated and visionary”.
She said the step towards taking crypto was in line with the evolving identity of the kingdom. “This partnership opens up with a new category of travelers, people who want to explore the world using crypto payments.”
With large projects as Geleph Mindfulness City Crypt integration is perceived as part of a wider vision in Bhutan. “I think it would play a very big role in Geleph’s mindfulness,” Nimah told the media.
Despite the crypto -tangle of the Ministry of Tourism, adoption remains an unfinished work. Several local merchants on board have said that many customers have to see the possibility of payment.
The local guide also said Caintelegraph that he did not recommend a purely crypto when visiting Bhutan. The guide said the combination of crypto, cash and credit cards was still the best way to do.
