Commissioner for Commissioner for Commodity Futures (CFTC) Summer Mersinger will leave the agency on May 30 to become the new CEO notification.
The notification states that Mersinger’s appointment comes at a critical legislative moment for digital assets in Washington, where the Blockchain Association promotes the market structure and Stablecoin legislation.
The group described their selection process as exhausting and noted that the regulatory experience and background Capitol Hill motivated Mersinger.
In particular, Mersinger has recently been floated as one of the best candidates to become chairman of CFTC in a potential Trump administration.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Blockchain Association Jake Chevinsky, who also serves as the main legal director in the Fund variant, he wrote:
“The Comm’r Mersinger was a great CFTC champion during her time, and now she will have the whole industry to benefit from her leadership.”
