The Cantonese network announced the expansion of Franklin Templeton’s Benji Technology Platform on its blockchain, giving institutional investors access to tokenized investment products through its digital infrastructure.

The collaboration is designed to connect traditional finance and digital assets in a trusted framework – combining compliance, transparency and efficiency.

A proven blockchain stack for tokenized investments

Benji’s technology platform is Franklin Templeton a proprietary technology stack integrated into the blockchain, created to manage and manage token-based investments.

In 2021, the company launched the world’s first US-registered mutual fund that processes transactions and records share ownership directly on the blockchain.

Since then, Franklin Templeton has introduced several full-chain tokenized investment products that meet diverse client needs across the retail, institutional, property and banking segments. The expansion into Canton gives the firm’s global clients greater flexibility in working with digital assets, all in a regulated environment.

“Our goal is to meet institutions where they are and, just as importantly, where they are going,” he said Roger Bayston, Head of Digital Assets at Franklin Templeton.

“The integration of our Benji technology platform with the Canton Network allows us to provide a private blockchain capability along with the interoperability that clients expect without compromising transparency or security,” adds Bayston.

Earlier this year Franklin Templeton announced Intraday Yieldlatest features on its proprietary Benji Technology Platform. This feature, the company says, “dramatically” increases market opportunities for both clients and partners.
