Crypto Media Outlet Caintelegraph confirmed that its website was threatened by front-end exploit on Sunday, and the attackers injected a malicious pop-up that falsified that it offered “Caintelegraph ICO Airdrops” and “CTG tokens”.
The false banner urged the reader to combine their crypt of wallet in exchange for tokens worth almost $ 5,500, quoting the “fair opening” event and a false audit of the certik to give fraud legitimacy.
“Don’t click on these pop -up windows, don’t connect your wallet or enter any personal information,” Caintelegraph warned in the X post, adding that it was “actively working on repair”.
Victims are usually cheated on the connection of the wallets for token claims, identity verification or loyalty rewards – just to make their resources siphone immediately afterwards.
Tactics reflect almost identical exploitation Coinmarketcap two days earlierWhere attackers put a similar code to give calls to phishing your wallet.
In both cases, the attack relied on the kidnapping of trusted platforms to bypass the skepticism of the user – to transform messages and data pages into unconscious vectors for the outflows of the wallet.
