Bo Hineswho led the Crypto Council of the White House under President Donald Trump, 9. August announced that he was leaving the position to return to the private industry.
In the post on xHines said, “Serving President Trump’s administration and working with our great AI & Crypto Czar, David Sacks, as executive director Crypto Council, and was an honor of all his life.”
Since January Hines has been responsible for leading discussions between the Government and the Crypto Industry.

He has collaborated with companies, developers and agencies on the development of digital asset policy and helped publish reports stating that the administration plans to resolve the cryptocurrency that goes forward.

Hines first assumed a role in December 2024. During his time, he worked closely with David Sacks, who oversees artificial intelligence (AI) and a crypto policy for administration.
Although not confirmed by the official replacement, journalist Eleanor Terrett stated on x that Patrick Witt, Deputy Director of the Council, is likely to enter the role. Until the decision is made, the Council will continue its usual work.
