Jack Dorsey launches Bitchat, a Bluetooth-based messaging platform

Twitter founder Jack dorsey has Published The white book for Bitchat, a decentralized platform for sending messages that works completely over Bluetooth.

The application is designed to work without access to the Internet and instead rely on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) network networks for Peer-to-peer communication.

What is bitchat?

Bitchat is the first chat platform for privacy based on the shop architecture and forward using BLE.

Its aim is to offer censorship resistant Communication that remains functional even in Internet outages or infrastructure failure.

Bitchat works across Ble Mesh networks, allowing users to communicate safely to the physical extent. According to the White Book of each device, it serves as a client and server and transmits messages between users in a decentralized way.

This multi-hop design expands communication outside the direct Bluetooth range, allowing offline or remote devices to be achieved across nearby nodes.

Bitchat uses its own Ble Mesh protocol that allows the device to scan others within a 30 -meter circuit using UUID shared service. After discovery, they are connected and formed by temporary network hubs. Messages are encrypted by end-to-end and exist only in the device memory by default, ensuring security and ephemerality.

Meanwhile, the platform is also a system of trade and forward.

Bitchat Caches messages sent to a temporarily offline device, with graded retention windows: 12 hours for conventional peers and vague storage for selected favorite items. Once these devices are connected to the network, it automatically loads any stored messages.

The structure of Bitchat eliminates the need for phone numbers, e -mails or permanent identifiers. It offers sending messages based on a group cottage, complete with optional password protection.

Communication is encrypted at multiple levels and digital signatures are used to verify messages.

WhitePaper has grown:

“Bitchat shows that secure private sending of messages is possible without centralized infrastructure. By combining Bluetooth, end-to-end encryption, and privacy protocols provides resistant communication that works anywhere where people gather, regardless of the availability of the Internet.”
