US President Donald Trump granted the pardon Changpeng “CZ” Zhaoco-founder and former CEO of Binance. CZ pleaded guilty to money laundering in 2024 and was jailed for four months.
According to The Wall Street Journalpeople familiar with the matter said President Trump signed the pardon today. “Trump has recently indicated to advisers that he sympathizes with arguments about political persecution related to Zhao and others,” the report said.
Binance token BNB saw a surge after the news broke, surging to the $1,150 level before calibrating to the current $1,128, a 4.5% gain over the past few hours.
