Palantir Technologies filed a federal lawsuit accusing two former employees of misusing company data help build a competitive artificial intelligence (AI) business.
The lawsuit targets Radha Jain and Joanna Cohenboth former senior engineers at Palantir. It was claimed that they left the company and then secretly worked on the development of an AI startup called Percepta.
This new venture is backed by investment firm General Catalyst and, according to Palantir, offers services similar to its own.

Palantir claimed that Jain and Cohen had access to important internal material while employedincluding software code, healthcare demonstrations, user processes and sales methods.
The lawsuit also alleges that Jain and Cohen they did not inform Palantir of their plans after the resignation. Instead of signing the standard exit paperwork, they reportedly avoided sharing where they were going next.
Palantir specifically accused Cohen of sending private company files to herself using Slack a day after giving notice. The company said it later opened those files on its personal phone.
The documents reportedly included a diagram of the healthcare project and a demo setup.
In court documents, Palantir claimed both individuals misled the company and took actions that gave Percept an unfair advantage. The lawsuit warned that this could allow Percept to save time and money by using Palantir’s work instead of building its own tools from scratch.
