Threads Rolls Out Mobile Analytics to All Users

As you can see in these screenshots, Threads analytics provides data on your top-performing posts, follower growth, engagement rates, and more, all within a dedicated in-app analytics view.

Threads has launched an initial test of post analytics with select users last monthand now makes it available to everyone in the latest version of the app.

As he explained neither:

“We publish insights for your mobile and web posts. On mobile, tap the insight icon on your profile (top right) and select a date range. You’ll see your best posts sorted by views and likes. To see everything you’ve posted during that period, tap “See All,” on the right. You’ll be able to sort your posts by views, likes or replies – and tap directly on a post for a breakdown of views and interactions.

As the Threads team notes, you can also access post analytics on the web version of the app, while you can also pin your insights to a column within the Threads web view by clicking the pin icon in the lower left corner, then selecting “Insights”.

This is critical data that social media managers need to have, and if Threads wants to maximize its growth opportunities, it needs to offer these insights to help creators grow their audience and reach on the app.

Although the two elements are not always aligned, especially in the modern, algorithmically defined era of social media engagement.

These days, most people rely on the default “For You” feed in social apps, which shows them a list of content that algorithms think they’ll be most interested in whenever they log in. And since this does all the work for you in displaying relevant posts, the need to track individual accounts is significantly reduced.

This makes it harder for creators to build a following, because people just aren’t following at the same rate as before. But since social media’s emphasis has long been on growing audiences, making it harder to get more followers is a significant disincentive for many creators.

That’s why the Threads team strove put more emphasis on content from the accounts you followand also advises creators and publishers that focus on the views insteadas opposed to sticking to the number of followers.

Because they are no longer as relevant as they once were. But again, this being the case, it’s harder for creators to build their own audience, increasing their reliance on the apps themselves to increase reach and resonance.

Which will be the case regardless of whether their followers grow or not. But still, Threads is trying to help users increase that number, as a way for people to keep publishing and building within their apps.

Analytics is another key consideration on this front, and broader access to your performance data will benefit anyone looking to maximize their app performance.
