After running the initial post scheduling test last monthThemes now have announced that all users will be able to natively schedule their posts in the application.
As you can see in this sequence, Threads users can now select a date and time to publish a post, right within the post builder.
As he explained neither:
“Tap the three-dot menu on Composer, then tap Schedule. Select the date and time, then tap Schedule again. The posts you’ve scheduled will appear in your drafts folder, where you can edit or delete them as needed.”
So not only can you schedule your updates, but you can also view your scheduled posts and edit them as you see fit.
However, it’s worth pointing out that you’ve technically been able to schedule threads for some time.
Last March, Threads added post scheduling to its APIwhich means that third-party apps and schedulers can enable scheduling of in-app posts. So, functionally, it’s not completely new, but it’s now available natively, within the app itself, which will make it easier to schedule posts on the go.
The next step is for Meta to add Threads to its Business Suite app, where you can schedule content for Facebook and IG. When this happens, social media managers will have more capacity to control their presence in Threads from a single platform, which will be a huge help in planning and publishing.
Threads continue to iterate at a high rate, as they try to catch up with other applications and compete for a share of attention. The platform is now up to 300 million users and is growing rapidly, and its weekly, almost daily tweaks and changes continue to provide more functionality for user needs.
And scheduling is a key update that could facilitate a lot more posts from publishers and brands, expanding the overall conversation in the app.
And if it continues to grow at the current rate, i reaction to Elon Musk’s X continues to grow, Threads could overtake X as the favorite real-time social app early this year.
