Reddit Launches Trend Tracking, AMA Ads

Reddit has added a new way to track trending discussion topics in the app, with Reddit Pro Trendsits element Reddit Pro Dashboard.

As you can see in this example, Reddit Pro Trends will allow you to track the growth of discussions in the app based on your own custom keywords and/or topics.

As he explained Reddit:

“Located within the new “Trends” tab on our Reddit Pro menu, businesses can now track almost any keyword or phrase—a brand name, product name, category, or even the latest viral trend—and see when, where, and how redditors are discussing to it in real time.”

In addition to custom terms, Reddit will also include more than 100,000 pre-programmed “smart” keywords and phrases for users to track.

Each keyword or term will include a visualization of the volume of conversations on Reddit over time, a list of communities that mention that keyword or phrase, and a summary of conversations that mention their keyword or phrase for further context or direct engagement.

Each topic will also eventually include a list of related keywords to continue researching, so you can dive deeper into the broader conversation and better understand how and why Redditors care about each one.

It could be a valuable tool for brand research, and not just for Reddit-specific campaigns, but also for gathering broader product and topic research. With this, you’ll be able to measure brand feedback in real-time and see how people react to different launches, while tracking the same for competitors.

This could provide valuable insight, especially given Reddit’s popularity for discussing products and user experiences.

On the other hand, Reddit is also running AMA ads, which will allow brands to promote their own “Ask Me Anything” chats in the app.

As you can see in this example, Reddit’s AMA ads will give you another way to promote brand chats, to increase in-app engagement.

AMA ads will include a “Remind Me” button to help you maximize participation, and you’ll also be able to track the number of RSVPs received since the promotion.

AMAs remain one of the most popular elements of Reddit, and AMA ads can be a good way to get the most out of your own promotional efforts.

AMA ads are now available in the Reddit Ads Manager.
